Treaty of waitangi

The treaty of waitangi was a treaty between the English and Maori to make laws and  to stop something called the musket wars the musket war came around because around 200 sailors from all countries traded musket and blankets  to the Maori in return they got land but the Maori used the musket to take land from other Maori that killed over 20 thousand Maori and the cycle began in the middle of the musket wars the missionaries came and tort Maori gardening , writing and English got a good relationship with them and start to talk on their behalf they said that the sailors were too drunk and too much prostitution ,land sells ,death and  whaling was happening this and muskets wars put them on par with the outside world this was the resins of the treaty
